Part 2, two cities: Changzhou & Chengdu

Changzhou, China — With a population approaching 5 million, Changzhou is an important industrial center for textiles, food processing, engineering (diesel engines, generators, transformers and other machinery), and high technology. Changzhou is also one of the top business cities in China. According to Forbes ranking, Changzhou was the 9th best business city in mainland China in 2008.

Chengdu, China — With a population over 11 million, Chengdu is one of the most important economic centers, and transportation and communication hubs, in Western China. According to the 2007 Public Appraisal for Best Chinese Cities for Investment, Chengdu was chosen as one of the top ten cities to invest in out of a total of 280 urban centers in China.
