Steve Sutcliffe of Autocar introduces us to the newly released Lambo Aventador and, despite the rain, managed an informative video review.
Now, no doubt this machine is a superbly engineered vehicle; after all, it is the result of decades of Italian exotic-car passion and the current German owner’s engineering prowess. As for how that blending worked out in the Aventador’s design…
Well, let’s just say that to me the styling often reminds of the prerogatives of a pimply-faced, starry-eyed high-schooler sketching his dream car in study hall… or an adult who failed to develop a more sophisticated sensibility as he grew up.
Nonetheless, I have to admit that the more video I see of the car in action, the more its design offends less. And, in the case of this video, it seems as if the color white suits the Aventador best, lending it a less harsh and chaotic surface impression.
The video clip is filled with wet-weather drifts, insight from Sutcliffe and the enormous howl of a 6.5-liter V12 engine. Watching the Aventador in action… well, one is hard pressed to not gush romantically about its performance.
